Telethon of the Stars – Child Star

 Tanner Wilke, Illinois Child Star for the 2006 Lion's Club Telethon of Stars, is a first grader at Maple Grove Elementary.  Maple Grove is holding a penny drive from October 23 until October 27 to raise money to donate to the telethon in honor of Tanner.  The school held the assembly in the gym on Monday.  Each student deposited their pennies in a container marked for their class.  The classroom who brings in the most pennies by Friday afternoon will win a party provided by Tanner's family.  Tanner demonstrated some of his many athletic abilities for the school by completing an obstacle course set up by the Physical Education teacher, Pete Gordon.  P.E. is one of Tanner's favorite school activities.  Tanner attends TLC of Southern Il twice a week for speech therapy.  All of the money raised in IL for the telethon will go to this facility.
