Technology Donation Received
On October 24, 2006, Theresa and Bruce Monzulla of
Joppa, Illinois presented a check for $19,385.00 to the Joppa-Maple Grove
School District. The donation will provide support to district
administration and staff in the development of a technology improvement
plan. Recently, the servers currently in use at both schools have been
experiencing technical problems. Dr. Trampe, Superintendent of the District
said “the existing servers are getting old and their reliability is becoming
questionable.” The monetary gift from the Monzullas will be used to install
new network servers at both Maple Grove and Joppa High School and will also
help establish an attendance reward program for students. The new servers
will allow staff and students to utilize some of the latest technological
innovations in computers and networking.
The Monzulla family
has recently relocated to Massac County. They are the new owners of the
Gambit Golf Course in Vienna, IL. They are firmly committed to being a
positive part of the community and believe that anything which promotes the
education of Joppa’s youth should be a top priority. Many thanks to the
Monzulla family from the staff and students at Joppa-Maple Grove District
#38!
