Many Joppa students may see a blast form the past in the gym this year. Yes,
ladies and gentlemen, Coach Gordon has returned to JHS for a second round!
You might remember him from 2000-2002 when he was the P.E. teacher. Now he
has come back as the Athletic Director, P.E. teacher, and Varsity Boys’
Basketball coach of 2006.
Coach Gordon originally cam into this world in Portland, Maine, thirty-four
years ago. Moving to Illinois as a second grader, he mostly grew up here in
Southern Illinois. Now, he resides in Olmsted, Illinois.
He has two sisters and three brothers. From them came four nieces and one
nephew. Though he has no kids, he says he enjoys being an uncle.
Coach Gordon enjoys all
sports, but his favorites are golf, soccer, and basketball. He loves playing
them as much as he loves watching them.

For any of you single, lucky ladies out there, Mr. Pete Gordon also enjoys
long walks on the beach, and would like to share the experience with someone
very special.

Having been teaching for eleven years, in places such as Illinois, Georgia,
and North Carolina, he expresses his love for Joppa.

him happy.” Coach loves our politeness, humor, and hustling capabilities.
